When you decide to leave an abusive situation, there is some information you need to know.

  • Get to a room with a door or a window to escape. Go to a safe place and call 911 to get medical attention if you are hurt.
  • Call 911 and get the name and badge number of the officers who arrive.
  • Contact a domestic violence program, the National Domestic Violence Hotline at (800)799-7233, or go to a safehouse or shelter.
